Well done Startledbunny, and to Jon, Sean and RG who were close behind with some tight scores.

A few of us were hit by the retirement of the McNish/Kristensen Audi, particularly Sebastian and I who picked both drivers. If that had finished 3rd or better we could have got about 320 points and led the week, unfortunately it was not to be.

We all picked Lewis Hamilton so there was no net loss for anyone for his early finish. Jackie was unfortunately unlucky that Raikkonen didn’t complete the final day of the rally and so he scored zero points.

For further insight into how the scores were calculated, Sebastian shows them in a different format and you can see the table here.

Sean’s good score combined with The Speedgeek’s non-entry this week moves the former into 4th, well done Sean! Everything else is static. It is a shame for Startledbunny that his ‘week win’ came as his immediate competition scored nearly as well.

Jackie will overtake Burwellian soon, but can she catch James with just eleven weeks remaining?

Results sheets are now available on the TMR drop.io.

Coming Up – Week 34

IndyCar Series – Off to Motegi in Japan to fulfil a contractual obligation to sole engine supplier Honda. This is a sort of egg-shaped oval in that turns 1 and 2 are tight and turns 3 and 4 are long and wide. It tends not to produce a good race, it didn’t for CART/Champ Car and it hasn’t so far for IRL/IndyCar, although Danica’s fuel-saving win was better than the people who denigrate it suggest;

NASCAR Sprint Cup – The short and flat oval at Loudon, New Hampshire. Current Standings

DTM – Getting close to the end of the DTM season with a visit to Oschersleben, a tight twisty series of hairpins and annoying chicanes. Not a particularly good venue either!

Enjoy the races!

  3. I like fuel mileage races a lot in any series especially on tracks that would be fairly generic otherwise (like Motegi is). I denigrate Danica’s win because a fuel-mileage win has nothing to do with DRIVING talent and that one win has caused her to get even more hype which she doesn’t deserve, to be the Anna Kournikova of racing 100%. Can we please send her off to NASCAR and put well, anybody else in the #7 car? The answer is of course no, because the team will be unable to find sponsors with a real (albeit unmarketable) driver in the ride.
