TMR Game 2011 – Week 13

Hello and welcome to TMR Game Week 13.

We take a break this weekend as MotoGP’s Japanese round was understandably rescheduled to October, and this is one of the few weeks with no Sprint Cup action. Read on for your scores from Week 12.

Housekeeping

Each week you pick 10 entries with a maximum of 7 of those coming from a single championship. You can have any mix of races from those listed in this post, and you don’t have to use all of them.

See this page for the game rules.

Email reminders will be sent on Thursdays or Fridays by either myself or Sebastian. Please leave a valid email address in the comment form. If you do not wish to receive reminders please let us know, otherwise we’ll assume we’re okay to send them. Also let us know (privately if you prefer) if you would like to use a different address to the one you use here. I may also use Twitter or other sites if I happen to see you there on Thursday or Friday.

What great results in IndyCar and F1! Nobody could’ve predicted those with 20 laps to go. The ALMS race was as expected, an LMP sideshow with the focus in a fantastic GT battle. I missed the Cup race but it looks like the Hendrick cars took charge with a 1st, a 3rd and a 4th.

Congratulations to Sean for another win, the third of the year! Felipe and The Crooked Cap had great scores, too. I’m pleased with my score after my gamble on CORE paid off!

Formula 1 was the focus for many players and for them that proved to be a successful strategy. We had some very high scores in the F1 split considering this was a four-event week! Maverick was the only one of the few to pick more from another series (in this case IndyCar) who was able to make it work.

Conversely, NASCAR was largely left out of the picture as you might expect from a ‘plate race. Those who did make picks weren’t really rewarded since many chose Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth, who scored two TMRG points between them. Jackie lost out when she switched from race winner Johnson to Kenseth, as a consequence of the first try entering the spam trap I feel a bit guilty about that, but both entries were rescued with time to make a correction.

Do check Sebastian’s figures here for a detailed look at your results, this week he’s also calculated efficiency of winners’ picks.

Sean’s lead is extended further, he’s going to take some beating now! Sebastian and I are next up, scoring well but still not enough. I overtook James and RubberGoat, who is now tied with Dylan for 6th. Dylan switched position with Jay. Felipe has now caught that group with his good score this week. Crooked Cap isn’t far behind him, after passing Maverick.

The gaps between each player aren’t very big but the overall field spread is growing. After this short break, now would be a good time to put in a string of good results.

Upcoming Races

Just one race was originally scheduled for this weekend, but understandably the Japanese MotoGP race has been rescheduled to October. Therefore we have a break in the action and we’ll pick up again one week from now with entries for IndyCar, MotoGP, Cup and the first DTM round of the year. In the meantime, keep an eye on the Le Mans Test Day and enjoy the Easter weekend!

  1. No worries Pat, it was my fault for switching and I’m quite happy with my score apart from the foxes paw… there’s still plenty of time to catch up!

  2. I thought I had a good week, and I did – but still moved down the rankings!

Not a bad week to have MotoGP cancelled, I don’t think there would have been many combinations of picks if it was the only race.
