Hello and welcome to TMR Game Week 18.
This post accepts entries for this great trio of blue-riband events:
– F1 Monaco
– IndyCar Indianapolis
– NASCAR Charlotte
Housekeeping
Each week you pick 10 entries with a maximum of 7 of those coming from a single championship. You can have any mix of races from those listed in this post, and you don’t have to use all of them.
See this page for the game rules.
Email reminders will be sent on Thursdays or Fridays by either myself or Sebastian. Please leave a valid email address in the comment form. If you do not wish to receive reminders please let us know, otherwise we’ll assume we’re okay to send them. Also let us know (privately if you prefer) if you would like to use a different address to the one you use here. I may also use Twitter or other sites if I happen to see you there on Thursday or Friday.

Congratulations Sebastian and Gavin! Both would’ve had a full set of positions 1-7 had it not been for that pesky Schumacher.
As expected it was a very closely-matched week, with a tie for the win and a four-way tie in the mix as well.
Ryan was hoping for a Vettel retirement I think, no such luck there with him winning another race. Six players were unlucky though, picking Massa who did post a retirement and only netted 8 points when you might expect him to score at least 20.
Do check the more detailed sheet produced by Sebastian.

James and Startledbunny pass the non-entering Crooked Cap. Speedgeek makes a place on Maverick although they are only two points apart.
‘Bunny is up into 8th. Maverick made some good gains to regain some lost ground on fellow VivaF1 player Jackie. Speedgeek moved up a spot too, while Ryan and Jay drop back. It seems as though Mike is no longer playing.
Upcoming Races
There are three huge races this weekend which should be one of the favourite weekends of the racing year for any fan. Those races are, in chronological order:
F1: Monaco Grand Prix
I love the Monaco GP. It has a lot of critics but they are all wrong. You can pass there without a DRS with a bit of opportunism, at the chicane or maybe, just maybe if you are lucky, into Ste.Devote. It rewards someone willing to give it a go, but punishes them if they get it wrong – something of a theme for the 3 tracks this week. Sadly a very real problem this year could be the mass of Pirelli marbles. www.f1.com
IndyCar: Indianapolis 500
A venue so completely different to Monaco in every way, except it also so very similar. A one-line race track which both rewards and punishes those who pass or push hard. Very much more than the usual ‘four corners turing left’. Some unusual cars were fast in qualifying but I still expect the Ganassis and Penskes to pull through for the race – we say that every year and yet by the end there’s always an unexpected pursuer close behind such as Dan Wheldon, maybe this year that’ll be Alex Tagliani, maybe he could win? At the time of writing notable Andretti Autosport drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay and Mike Conway have failed to qualify, though there is talk of getting RHR into Bruno Junqueira’s car. www.indycar.com
NASCAR Cup: Charlotte
The Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte is the last of our epic triple-header and it is also the longest. It is a bit like a sportscar race in that if you want to watch it all, you’ll be there a while. There is no way I’m going to predict the outcome of a 600-mile NASCAR race with all the potential for crashes and whatnot. www.nascar.com
Don’t forget to watch Kimi on Saturday night, again at Charlotte.
Good luck!
God I hope a non Red wins….

NASCAR:
Jimmie Johnston
In two minds about Heidi. He has been very unlucky this season, but should I pick him hoping his bad luck is over, or pick someone luckier?

This is a tricky one. Monaco can be the one race where even dominant cars/drivers don’t win, and at Indy even if fancied runners finishes in the top 3 the rest of the top ten might be made up of all sorts.
Here is my opening gambit which I may change Thursday/Friday. I have elected to skip NASCAR for the time being but I might add a guy later.

I’m ignoring NASCAR again. However I’m gonna go for a 5-5 split as both Monaco & Indy are also a bit random.
