TMR Game 2011 – Week 30

Hello and welcome to TMR Game Week 30.

I’d like to state up-front that should the protests of the Loudon IndyCar race be successful, I will under the rules have to adjust the TMR scores later. Just thought I should say so, since it doesn’t happen often!

This post accepts entries for these 2 events:

– ALMS Road America
– NASCAR Michigan

Housekeeping

Each week you pick 10 entries with a maximum of 7 of those coming from a single championship.
You can have any mix of races from those listed in this post, and you don’t have to use all of them.

See this page for the rules.

Email reminders will be sent on Thursdays or Fridays by either myself or Sebastian. Please leave a valid email address in the comment form.

Congrats Startledbunny on a second win in a row! A dominant performance too. Well done to Jackie in 2nd and Sean 3rd.

I put me ahead of Mav because I had two winners and also it’s my game.

A big round of applause to all of us for picking up the 50 points for Stoner’s win, we all picked him. Tony Stewart cost five people a lot of points, he only picked up 3 when you’d think maybe he’d have scored 20 or more for a top ten.

No changes in positions, however Jackie has tied 7th with Mav! I think it is impressive to have the same score after 29 weeks of competition with the totals in the 6800-range.

Races This Week

ALMS Road America

With only two races this week it could be interesting to see the picks for the ALMS, how will people deal with the lack of prototypes in the series, with predominantly NASCAR selections or by going for LMPC and GT picks? PDF entry list (may change).

NASCAR Cup Michigan

The second visit to this track. A few months ago the race was won by Denny Hamlin with Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch rounding out the top three. That may not be an indication of how they’ll perform this time. www.nascar.com

Good luck!

  1. I would be surprised if they change the IRL result, but if they do it will not help me against Sean as we picked the same three. 29 points behind with fifteen to go.

This is the first time ever I have picked a sports-car entry outside the top class. It is also the first time I have picked a majority of NASCAR drivers in a two-or-more event week. I think this is a week that will see a big spread of scores with luck being the major deciding factor.

  5. I lucked out there. Sebastian would be a lot closer if Tony Stewart hadn’t crashed on the last lap…

Definitely favor ALMS here because most of the results never deviate by more than two positions not counting DNFs. The top seven I picked could very easily be the top seven, and you can’t do that in NASCAR anymore (it’s not as predictable as it was in 1998).

  7. Nice to see some varied picks, the scores this week will be interesting. I’m going to follow Sean’s advice partly because he is leading, partly because I know more about ALMS than Cup, and partly because I was going for 6 picks anyway.. may as well make it a 7th.
