Well done Mav! Sebastian and I had relatively decent scores too.

That said, none of us did particularly well given the points on the table, due to the retirements of the no.7 Peugeot and the two Audis. At least the Audis picked up a point apiece, the Pug scored a flat zero. The MotoGP race was the only happy hunting ground for most of us this week.

Please see the score-by-score results produced by Sebastian, where you can see the potential maxium score this week was 450! Nowhere near, blame those diesels.

Sebastian retakes the top spot! Well done for overcoming the big deficit. Can Sean mount a fightback?

Mav overtakes Geek for 6th position and closes in on me. I’m glad I outscored Felipe though, I want that 4th-place back.

Races This Week

F1 Japanese GP – Suzuka

Suzuka has become a classic venue and it just feels right that the title will be decided there, just as it was in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Last year the drivers struggled to keep the cars on the track, I hope they’ve remember how to do it this year. I hope the DRS isn’t too effective.

NASCAR Cup Kansas

Spring’s race was won by Brad Keselowski, with Dale Jr 2nd and Hamlin 3rd. The form may be a little different now, particularly with the complication of the Chase.

Good luck!

  2. I have had a lucky three weeks against Sean bearing in mind our selections only varied by one or two a week, and the choices Sean lost points on were ones I so almost picked myself. I seem to have spent almost the entire year clawing back my deficit against Sean, from 105 back in Week 15 to gaining small leads in weeks 22 and 23, to fall back to 78 behind, back up within 14 by week 27, and week 30 to be 89 behind.

Looking at the remaining events, for F1 and MotoGP we have been making very similar choices (they seem the obvious ones), I doubt there will be much difference between our approach to the last Indycar and DTM rounds, so the difference may well be how we pick around the last ILMC event at Zhuhai, but I suspect the biggest decider will be the NASCAR picks, with the remaining weeks forcing a minimum of sixteen choices from that series. Unfortunately, that is more Sean’s turf than mine, but with us both being so close, luck will have the biggest say.

I am surprising myself by picking four rather than the minimum three NASCAR choices, but that is the way my numbers pointed.

  5. I am away this weekend (visiting Gavin Rubbergoat!) so if there any problems, comments which aren’t submitted, driver changes etc, I probably won’t deal with them until Monday.
If your comment goes to Spam don’t worry it’ll still have the correct timestamp when I check it next week, but maybe you should email it if that happens.

  8. Was worried about picking Keselowski, even though there was reasoning behind it, but feeling a lot more relaxed now that Sean has picked him too
