A timely story for this blog given that the last couple of posts are notes on IndyCar and GP2 races, and a story which came seemingly from nowhere today, was that GP2 race winner Mike Conway topped the IndyCar test at Sonoma, California.
Conway won a race at the Monte Carlo round of the GP2 Series, supporting the Monaco GP, and currently sits 11th in points. Not stellar, but respectable given the competitiveness of the midfield in GP2, and a win at Monaco is nothing to be disregarded. I saw that race and he was dominant, it was not a fluke.
The only report I can find about this test is from autosport.com, none of the US racing sites seems to have reported a single thing from this test which featured several teams and drivers. Given the test was on Wednesday and Thursday I would have expected at least something by now. Even IndyCar.com has nothing. If this were F1 or NASCAR there would be reports, even basic ones, on all the major racing sites. Very odd.
