I thoroughly enjoyed the ALMS race, which I watched via the series’ own website. I’ve missed watching it and it was the best race I’ve seen in ages, across the board. There may have been only a handful of prototypes but they fought hard among a huge amount of traffic – yet the traffic was providing entertaining racing in its own right! The GT race in particular was fantastic. The IndyCar wasn’t that good, although by the standards of most CART/IndyCar races I’ve seen there it wasn’t that bad. I didn’t see the other two but I’m very happy Montoya won.

Congratulations Sean! You picked the Cup and IndyCar winners as well as the IndyCar and ALMS runners-up. There wasn’t a dud score among the picks, the lowest being Ekstrom and Stewart for 7th place each.
Sebastian was a close second with two winners, three podium drivers and a strong remainder.
RG was a near third and managed to pick three winners, the only player to acheive the feat this week, but was let down by only having one of the 2nd-placed Brabham/Pagenaud pairing and the substitute driver of Denny Hamlin only scoring one point – despite these facts he was still only 9 points behind Sean.
Jackie and I were let down slightly by Jimmie Johnson. I was expecting him to do reasonably well, top five perhaps given his increase in road course racing, but it was not to be. Otherwise we had very strong scores. Speedgeek was in among us with several solid picks and no particular ‘lowlights’.
Startledbunny picked two winners but was let down by Greg Biffle. Burwellian had the double-hit of Biffle and Johnson. Jon expected the Drayson car to finish well and picked both drivers, but only picked up two points as it got into the wars early on.
There were no entries I would consider terrible as a whole, just the odd let down here and there, very encouraging!
Sebastian has worked out the scores as well and shows them in a different format, if you would like to see how your drivers performed you can see the table here. You can also see the efficiency of our picks in each championship – it seems we had a bad NASCAR week all round, but the others aren’t too bad.

No position changes and the top half of the board scored pretty much evenly, though I’m sure Sean and Sebastian are breathing a sigh of relief.
We all have a bit of a breather this week, I’m expecting everyone to pick seven NASCAR Cup drivers and it’ll be interesting to see how the selections vary, I have a feeling the scoring will come down to the lottery of which drives are taken out in a crash.
Results sheets will available on the TMR drop.io soon.
Coming Up – Week 29
Just the one race this week:
NASCAR Sprint Cup – We return to the Michigan International Speedway in Detroit for the second race of the year. The last visit was only in June, when Jimmie Johnson beat Robby Gordon and Kevin Harvick. Will there be a different result this time? www.nascar.com (points)
Just a word of warning: this may be a light week, but next week is the heaviest of the lot – SIX races! ALMS, LMS, IndyCar, WRC, DTM and NASCAR. Get your thinking caps on now because that week has the potential to create huge scores – it will be your chance to make a move on the leaderboard. That is for the future, for now just the one race to pick.

Carl Edwards
Jeff Gordon
Tony Stewart

OK, I can understand Sean breathing a sigh of relief as he extended his lead over The Speedgeek from 5 to 28, but why me?

“Jimmie Johnson beat Robby Gordon and Kevin Harvick. Will there be a different result this time?” Not sure where you got that. Sears Point results? The spring Michigan race was Denny Hamlin leading Kasey Kahne and Kurt Busch.
And I pick:

Kurt Busch
Kyle Busch
Carl Edwards
Jeff Gordon
Denny Hamlin

RG’s entry:
NASCAR: Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, JP Montoya, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Burton, Kyle Busch.
It was pointed out that in a past set of rules I said I’d take the first ten listed, so unless RG corrects his entry of 12 drivers next week, I’ll be doing that.
