Just click the link for the series you want to import and it will appear in your calendar.

Email Alerts Broken
Part of the functionality of Google Calendar is to be able to be notified by email whenever there is a change to a calendar. This seems to be broken. Every time I add a date to F1 or MotoGP I get a load of emails back saying the notification email has been blocked. There is no error message included and I have no idea why it is doing it.

Calendar List
Each series has a header and three items underneath the header:
- Link to series website for latest news and weekend timetable.
- ICAL link.
- HTML link.
For iCal (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and possibly others:
Tap the ICAL link. ICAL is not restricted to Apple devices, try it on others.
For Google Calendar:
Click the HTML link then click the +GoogleCalendar icon at the bottom right.
Other:
Try both links and pick the one that works best for your app.
Apps work differently:
- Some apps subscribe to real time updates, this means when I change a date it will update for you as well. Google Calendar does this.
- Other apps download the data one time only and you will need to come back here to get the most recent files.
I recommend Google Calendar, it’s what I use to create these calendars and it updates your list immediately when I post an update.

Why Use These Calendars?

I’ve been updating these since the 2011 racing season. Many decisions have been taken with experience, such as to make the usability the best it can be and to reduce the admin overhead. I listen to feedback but that doesn’t mean I’ll implement it!
One series = One calendar
Pick championships that interest you without getting lots of dates for things you don’t care about.
Customise
In Google Calendar you can colour-code each championship, e.g. you could make all the endurance series green, single-seater series red, or rally series brown (for dirt..!).
Dates, Not Times
Sorry, it is a big job for me to track race times! These are announced much later than race dates. I cover 30+ series, I just can’t monitor them on a weekly basis, I don’t have the free time. There is also an issue of timezone conversion.
Races Only
Races are why we are all here. Practice sessions clutter the feed meaning you can’t find the races. Clarity is better.
These calendars are designed for breadth not depth, so that you can activate say 10 or 20 series at once and see what day the races are on. They aren’t designed to cover all sessions.
Use these calendars as a tool to remind you which weekend a race happens, then go to the series website to look up the session timetable, which often is only announced days beforehand anyway. Really the onus is on you to look ahead.
No TV Times
I don’t know where you live! The internet is global. It is up to you to find out what TV, radio and online streaming coverage is available where you are. The series website is a good start, links to these are provided.
Event Titles
Event titles are as consistent as possible:
A short series name, the round number, the event title.
F1 – [R1] – Australian Grand Prix
IndyCar – [R5] – Indianapolis 500
WEC – [R3] – 24 Heures du Mans
[COVID-19: I am not currently including Round numbers [R1] as dates are changing too often. Every cancellation means renumbering everything else manually!]
I will try to keep the correct name where I can but there’s a limit, these dates need to be readable on mobile, so I need to edit. Especially for NASCAR, some of those race names are incredible. I might make a change like this:
- NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series – [R22] – Helluva Good! Sour Cream Dips At The Glen
- NASCAR Cup – [R22] – Watkins Glen
Different series number their races in different ways. I try to mirror the way the championship does it but I’ve probably got this wrong somewhere, so just use this as a guide and consult the championship itself for the correct numbers.
BTCC has 10 weekends per year with 3 races per weekend. Every race is counted separately so there are 30 rounds. As they are all on the Sundays I condense this into one entry.
BTCC -R1,R2,R3- Brands Hatch
DTM has say 10 weekends per year with 2 races per weekend, but they are one race each on Saturday and Sunday. As they’re on different days I split them.
May 7: DTM – R1 – Hockenheim
May 8: DTM – R2 – Hockenheim
F2 has say 10 weekends with 2 races each, for them it is the weekend that is counted as a round and the races are called ‘Feature’ and ‘Sprint’ so you get Round 1 Feature, Round 1 Sprint.
May 7: F2 – R1 Feature – Barcelona
May 8: F2 – R1 Sprint – Barcelona
Endurance races and rallies get one entry for the entire event.
‘Misc’ Calendar
Catch-all. It includes such things as the Dakar Rally, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Isle of Man TT, Nurburgring 24 Hours, Bathurst 12 Hours and anything else that pops into my head.
‘Other Sport’ Calendar
I made this for my own benefit for the Olympics & Paralympics. I like to know that I’m not going to miss the Tour de France or the Six Nations! It is heavily biased toward sports I watch and isn’t updated very often. It took a real back seat during Covid.

Dear my friend, soon you will need to update F1 calendar because there is a replace race on 25th Sep 2022. 🙂 (big chance for Qatar)

Hey Pat, thanks so much. Motoamerica would be a great addition!
A lot of new viewers because of the Motogp Dakar star Danilo Petrucci who moved to the championship this year.

Done! MotoAmerica Superbikes added. Thanks!

Any chance of putting the World of Outlaws Sprintcar schedule up there. Top job BTW. I depend upon your calendars. Outstanding work. You are a true hero for petrolheads.

Thanks for the comment. I looked at the news release for the 2022 schedule and it talked about 80 events this year just for the sprint cars (let alone the late models). That’s just too many for me to do on top of all the rest. Sorry!

Hello! I have been following these calendars some time now. Work perfectly!
Any chance you can add Formula Drift? 😀
Thanks for your hard work!

For the N24, you know of the change in presenting sponsor that started with the ’21 edition? Also, any chance the N24 Qualifying races scheduled for this weekend (May 7 & 8) can be added onto the Special Events calendar?

Hi,
@Ignacio I’ve been under a lot of pressure elsewhere so I’m not adding any more new series at the moment.
@Christopher Thanks, I’ve made sponsor change. The quali race is happening as I type this so I’ll leave it for this year but I’ll look to include it next season.
