Welcome to Week 41 of the Too Much Racing Game!
Be advised: Next week’s post is likely to be late, I am moving to a new flat this week and I don’t expect the internet connection to be restored until the middle of next week (I don’t understand why it takes a week to flick a switch or whatever it is they do). I’ll have access from work but for obvious reasons can’t spend long on this while there, so I will most likely set up a basic thread during lunch on Monday or Tuesday and come back to the results later.
I will also be asking for game feedback soon.
Racing this week:
Formula 1 – Brazilian GP, Interlagos;
Asian LMS – 1000km of Zhuhai, China;
NASCAR Sprint Cup – Ft Worth, Texas;
Usual restrictions apply, pick up to 7 drivers in any individual race up to a maximum of 10 drivers.
The cutoff is Saturday 6th November at 4.59am GMT (UK is now on GMT), that’s 12.59am Friday night US EDT.
For the full results from Week 40, read on.
How To Enter
1. Reply to this post.
2. List up to 10 drivers, with no more than 7 from a single event.
3. Send your entry before the stated deadline. You can make as many changes as you like until the closing point, I’ll take your last entry.
Most weeks feature 2 or 3 races, some weeks may have more than that and some may only have one. There’s not a rule stating you have to choose a driver in each race, any combination of up to 10 drivers is accepted.
On to the results!

Congratulations to Burwellian and Jackie once more! The closest battle on the table is hotting up once more as the protagonists take this week’s results by storm, just a point between them. Startledbunny scored well this week too, and I didn’t do too badly either.
The top three won by picking five DTM and five NASCAR, while 4th and 5th (myself and Sebastian, respectively) went for what we thought was the theoretically better strategy of leaning on DTM since this was a restrictor plate NASCAR track. This had worked in the past.
Speedgeek and Sean keep making entries which ought to reward them but something always seems to happen to stop them getting those points, really bad luck for a while now.
There are some interesting patterns in Sebastian’s break-down of the scores.

The battle for 3rd overall is still close despite RG and Sean not scoring well relative to the rest of the competitors. Andy makes back the ground lost last week.
Startledbunny’s podium means he closes further on Jon, just 42 points in it now in what could be an interesting battle to the end of the season.
The tight battle between Burwellian and Jackie went Burwellian’s way by one point this week, there are still only 14 points in it which is nothing in this game.
Results sheets are no longer being uploaded to drop.io because Facebook bought it and they are shutting it down.
Coming Up – Week 41
Note – the final week is Week 44
F1 – I love Interlagos, it may be shabby and bumpy but it is brilliant, the atmosphere pours through the TV screen and it always turns the championship. The Brazilian GP is one of the best of the year. Watch it.
Asian Le Mans – The Asian LMS moves from last year’s venue at Okayama, to the Zhuhai circuit in China. This race has two drivers per car, but it seems like the number of cars entered is forever decreasing. Here is a PDF entry list by the ACO, and a version should hopefully appear as a web page at Planet Le Mans.
Sprint Cup – The year’s second visit to Texas.
Enjoy the races!
Ah hehe, that’s just amazing Burwellian and I come up with a few different drivers and we end up 1 point apart. Two? weeks to go, can I hack it… doubt it but I’m going to have fun trying. Pity its LMS this week, I don’t have a good record with that.

…and I thought that the DTM crash was gonna cause problems with my score… Needn’t have worried. Well done Jackie, still way too close to call. Almost as close as the F1; one poor result and it’ll all turned around! 😉
Too many drivers, not enough slots to put them in this week… Gimme a few days, I’ll put my entry up later in the week 🙂

Since I’ll be busy for much of the rest of the week and likely will have no internet when I finish, I’ll put an entry in now.

Not really ripping Sebastian off. It’s just in a short sports car field like that, the favorites are so cut and dry.
