Hello and welcome to TMR Game Week 15.

I hope you enjoyed the events this last weekend, I was away at a racetrack so I missed all of them! Hopefully I’ll see the MotoGP and IndyCar soon, although I had to look up the results to write these results so I’m not sure if I’ll bother now.

What a fantastic score from Sean! Crooked Cap did well too. The gap between Sebastian and Speedgeek wasn’t really that huge, but the gaps in front and behind that middle group were fairly large. Sadly for Mav, Jay and Mike this was not the week to miss an entry.

Sean scored 101 points more than I did: ouch!

Sean extends his lead over Sebastian to 100 points, who in turns holds a lead of 100 points over 3rd-placed James.

I’ve fallen two places to 5th with James and RubberGoat overtaking me, the three of us are still close together though so I can fight back this week.

Lots of position changes throughout. The Crooked Cap’s good score this week lead to a gain of 4 places, nicely done. Jay and Maverick fell back several spots. Things are nice and tight in the midfield still but the leaders are running away now, this fight looks like a real battle between Sean and Sebastian.

Upcoming Races

There are three races this weekend which count towards the game.

F1: Turkish Grand Prix, Istanbul

This could be the final visit to Istanbul Park which will be a shame as it isn’t the worst of the Tilke tracks, the long back straight (including corner) into the final section is a great passing opportunity even without the DRS, which will be in that zone for this race. www.f1.com

ILMC / LMS: 6 Heures du Spa-Francorchamps

Spa’s LMS round switches from a 1000km distance to a timed 6hr duration, and the LMS field will be joined by the participants in the ILMC. This is the final opportunity for Audi and Peugeot to battle each other before the Big One in June, and Audi will at last race their new car! We’ve got three Audis, three Peugeots and the older-model ORECA Peugeot. It’ll be fascinating to see how this plays out. You can find an entry list at the LMS website. There is a switch to English but I left it in French because ACO-sanctioned racing just looks right in French. Sadly it looks like AMR has pulled out.

  3. That was not the week to be cautious on NASCAR, but I am doing it again. I could not pick between the six Audis and Pugs so have selected all of them.

  4. MotoGP have a strange habit of listing riders that fail to complete the first lap as DNS. For future reference, Pat, at Estoril, would you have given Simoncelli 14 points since he did actually start the race, or zero points because the official result recorded him as a non-starter? It is bound to occur to a selected rider sooner or later and it would be very helpful to know your call on this in advance.

  5. I had no idea that was the case as I had to rely on the results table for this one. If he actually did start then he should be awarded points, only true non-starters would be scored a zero. In my opinion a DNS should only be recorded for anyone who doesn’t take the grid, or start from pitlane. Even a retirement as the start lights go out would be a DNF with 0 laps completed rather than a DNS, to my mind. Not sure how to classify a retirement on a formation/pace lap, that may well be a true DNS as they wouldn’t have reached the actual race start.
    Thanks for noticing, we’ll have to keep an eye out for that later in the year.
