2018 Pirelli World Challenge

GT and touring car sprint racing in North America with a variety of classes. There are four splits, not all appear at every round on the calendar. The GT splits are further divided into two formats, Sprint and SprintX. Every split races twice per meeting.

GT/GT Cup races:  50-minute races, one driver per car, FIA GT3 cars in GT, and Porsche Cup, Ferrari Challenge and Lamborghini Trofeo cars in GT Cup.

GT-X races (“SprintX”):  60-minute races, two drivers per car, FIA GT3 cars.

GTS races:  50-minute races, one driver per car, FIA GT4 cars.

GTS-X races (“SprintX”):  60-minute races, two drivers per car, FIA GT4 cars.

TCR races:  Sprint races for the global-spec TCR touring car class.

TC/TCA races:  Sprint races for PWC touring cars.

Finally, the end of the season sees the PWC organise the California 8 Hours, a round of the SRO Intercontinental GT Challenge.

The California 8 Hours is included here as many PWC teams are invited to attend. It is a round of the Intercontinental Challenge and so pays points towards that competition and not toward the PWC.

As explained in the opener, the classes mentioned are split into their own races (GT and GTC tend to be combined) and each class races twice on a given weekend. The lone exception is Long Beach where only the GT class attends with a single race on the Sunday.

Portland International Raceway joins the calendar this year at the expense of Mid-Ohio.
