The California 8 Hours is included here as many PWC teams are invited to attend. It is a round of the Intercontinental Challenge and so pays points towards that competition and not toward the PWC.
As explained in the opener, the classes mentioned are split into their own races (GT and GTC tend to be combined) and each class races twice on a given weekend. The lone exception is Long Beach where only the GT class attends with a single race on the Sunday.
Portland International Raceway joins the calendar this year at the expense of Mid-Ohio.
