See this page for the game rules.
Email reminders will be sent on Thursdays or Fridays by either myself or Sebastian. Please leave a valid email address in the comment form. If you do not wish to receive reminders please let us know, otherwise we’ll assume we’re okay to send them. Also let us know (privately if you prefer) if you would like to use a different address to the one you use here. I may also use Twitter or other sites if I happen to see you there on Thursday or Friday.
The deadline for entries is Saturday morning at 6am GMT / 1am ET.

An odd F1 race with action throughout (apart from at the very front), a crazy IndyCar race with passing galore and a few too many incidents, and a Cup race I didn’t see.

Congratulations to Gavin! Also a well done to Sean for another strong week.
UPDATED – Congratulations and apologies to The Crooked Cap, whose entry was found in the spam bin after publication of the original results. Sorry Gavin, still that’s a good points haul.
Almost everyone took a single-seater strategy this week with a sprinkling of Cup picks. Vettel and Power are no-brainers really, especially Power on a road course. Perhaps the street fight at Long Beach will be different. It was a slight surprise to see Webber drop back. Several were caught up out by Briscoe and Wilson’s low finishes, none more than Speedgeek who also picked Conway – that trio had one of their best opportunities of points all year and they missed out, that’s not bad picking that’s bad luck.
There were no entries from Ryan, Mike or Crooked Cap and that hurts them in a week like this.
Do check Sebastian’s figures here for a detailed look at your results, it is a better guide than taking a stab at the entry list.

RubberGoat won this week with a good score and as a result he jumps up four places, well done! You overtook me.. we’ll see about that.
UPDATED – After the entry was found in spam, this week’s winner is now The Crooked Cap, and you jump up 3 places to split the VivaF1 pair! Sorry RubberGOat, but at least you still move up four spots!
Sean maintains his lead with his 2nd-place result this week. Sebastian moves back into the top three after beating James.
Dylan drops 3 places after scoring well on IndyCar but less well on the other series.
Maverick’s 3rd this week moves him 3 spots ahead and he now leads the intra-VivaF1 battle! Felipe is also up a spot.
Ryan falls to the back of the group but still has a chance to catch up. I’m less certain if Crooked Cap and Mike can, but I’d hate to lose them from the game and I hope they are able to continue playing.
Upcoming Races
Four eligible races this week plus a whole host of other events, you lucky lucky people.
F1: Chinese Grand Prix, Shanghai
The higher temperatures and demands of Sepang caused an amazing number of pitstops and marbles, Shanghai usually has lower temperatures so will we see the same effects? www.f1.com
IndyCar Series: Grand Prix of Long Beach
The classic street race could be chaos with the double-file restarts, let’s hope the drivers are able to put on a good show whilst avoiding the accidents now they’ve had a couple of events to get used to them. If there are accidents any number of drivers could score well. www.indycar.com
American Le Mans Series: Grand Prix of Long Beach
(Saturday race) There are only two LMP1 cars and two LMP2 cars entered in this race, they should easily beat the other classes unless they run into trouble. If this were one of two races I’d take a stab at an LMPC or GT entrant, but with four races this week that’s something of a gamble – how’s your luck? www.americanlemans.com (go to Racehub)
NASCAR Cup: Talladega
A superspeedway where we may see the two-car tango make a return, as seen at Daytona. I’m going to look back at the Daytona results to see who has a good engine.. www.nascar.com
Good luck!
Well I don’t think I’ll be trying that tactic again; thankfully those around me don’t generally seem to have done much better though.
I’ll sort my entry out later in the week. Including F1 this time…

Some varied strategies available. Stick with strong runners in a couple of series, or try and pick podiums finishers in all four and hope for big big points? 200 pts available if you pick the four winners, but not many driver slots available to do it.

Taking a punt on the LMPC car rather than gamble on a Cup driver at Talladega. I’m not knowledgeable about LMPC other than knowing Jeanette’s name, perhaps Startledbunny has it right taking a GT car?

Odd, usually once you’ve been passed to comment you’re okay to keep posting, hence the friendly starter comment from spambots. Running a new version?

I’ve changed the commenting rules by enabling this one:

This might mean everyone’s first comment may go into moderation even if you’ve commented before, but after that things should be a little more smooth.

Jackie, picking at Talladega is a lottery because it is a 500 mile race (roughly) on a restrictor-plate track. That means ‘the big one’ (taking out 10+ cars in one accident) is never far away. If it happens in a pit sequence, many front runners who dropped back after pitting could be taken out, and if not then it’ll take out anyone running slower now and working to a stronger finish later.
