With Rockingham sadly closing we lose the fun infield circuit.
Instead this year we see a second visit to Thruxton.
Croft moves a week earlier to allow Oulton Park to slot in two weeks after it, the Cheshire track moving from early June to the end of the month. Croft now falls on the weekend of the Le Mans 24 Hours which may impact fans of both, though this does happen fairly regularly.
Snetterton is a week later than last year, the first weekend in September.
Knockhill gets shunted 3 weeks later, from late August to 15th September, taking the date Silverstone had last year.
Knockhill kicks off a rare-for-BTCC run of fortnightly races, with Silverstone falling 2 weeks later and the Brands Hatch finale 2 weeks after that.
Selfishly the second visit to Thruxton is good news for me because it is only 2 hours away, making it my local track, but it is also a week before the double of WEC Silverstone and F1 Spa, one of which I plan to attend. I probably can’t get away with doing consecutive weeks at a racetrack… or can I?
